Details of BANGLADESH NAVAL ACADEMY

Bangladesh Naval Academy is a famous military academy for naval training. It is in Southeast Asia. It established its presence in 1976 at the premises of the Marine Academy at Juludia, Chattogram. Then it shifted to BNS Issa Khan in Chattogram. To train the cadets the Academy shifted to its present location in 1988. The Academy was officially authorized on 2 June 1988.

Started work independently in the picturesque site of Patenga just at the river mouth of Karnaphuli. BNA has made outstanding contributions to national life over the previous three decades. Inspired by its slogan ‘Fight in the Way of Allah,’ the academy achieves this by teaching its own and international naval commanders.

The first batch of overseas cadets joined Bangladesh Naval Academy In July 1998. Till 2018, more than 100 foreign cadets from friendly countries got commissions from this Academy. BNA trains many foreign cadets from Palestine, Sri Lanka, Maldives, and Qatar. The training courses run at BNA are as follows:

Long Course – 3 years.

Direct Entry Officer Course – 24 weeks.

Junior Staff Course – 12 weeks

Branch Rank Common Course

BNA is the pioneer institution in appointing female cadets in the armed forces. The first batch of 16 female cadets began training at BNA in January 2000. So far, this academy has commissioned over 110 female officers. For outstanding achievements over the past decades, the Prime Minister awarded BNA with the National Standard on 28 Dec 2003.
